The Program
The UMC Summer Business Program is a four-week, in-person academic experience designed for students who want to advance their university preparation while earning a Canadian Grade 12 Business credit.

Students participate in guided walking visits through Downtown Toronto’s Financial District, including Bay Street.

Through guided visits to areas like the Distillery District, students observe how branding, tourism, and consumer experience drive business success.
Capstone Project Experience
From the first week, students begin building a Capstone Business Project.
Students:
Develop a business idea or strategy
Apply finance, marketing, and management concepts
Practice analytical thinking and presentation skills
Weekly one-on-one mentoring supports students as they shape and strengthen their project.
This allows students to show universities how they think and solve problems, not just what grades they earn.
Personal Finance and Investment Skills
Students also gain practical financial knowledge rarely taught in high school.
They learn:

2 hours daily of our BEAM Program, our university-focused business learning experience, where students develop analytical thinking, evidence-based reasoning, and begin working on a real-world Capstone Business Project.

BEAM Program
The BEAM Program is UMC High School’s flagship business pathway, offered throughout the academic year and designed to prepare students for the academic demands of top universities and business schools. Through BEAM, students have earned offers from leading institutions, including Rotman (University of Toronto), Schulich (York University), Smith (Queen’s University), Desautels (McGill University), DeGroote (McMaster University), and the London School of Economics.
